Solid Waste Management Plan DRAFT

After the January SWRB meeting, HDR and the Office of Sustainability and Resilience (OSR) worked on incorporating the changes discussed by the Board at the meeting in the March 2026 draft. Kindly review the new draft in preparation for next week's SWRB meeting on April 2. Please feel free to share the draft within your government, but do not share it publicly. The changes discussed by the Board were incorporated on the following pages:

  • 8: Glossary Changes 

  • 29-32: Changes to language describing other plans that address waste management

  • 37: Removal of Collection Vehicles callout box

  • 39-42: Changes to language related to recycling/diversion

  • 45: Changes to language in the callout box

  • 51: Changes to the language describing recyclable materials

  • 53: Brush & Bulky total updated and labels in Figure 4-9 changed

  • 55: First paragraph changed to better reflect Figure 4-10

  • 58: Changes to descriptions of facilities

  • 83: Changed name of alternative and added language to focus on all types of workforce training 

  • 98: Changes made to table to show landfill end of useful life and updated recycling rate targets

  • 99-101: Changes made to reflect updates in the table on page 98

  • 111: Changed and added language regarding actions to be taken regarding the 15 years of life capacity threshold

  • 141:  Changed name of action and added language to focus on all types of workforce training

  • 146: Changed text and graphic to reflect SWRB's commitment to accomplish Scenario 1
